The sashes slide up and down using traditional pulleys with heavy duty cords and weights.

Available in Double Glazing.

The sashes slide by means of partially hidden pre-tensioned springs, with a smooth, easy-to-use mechanism.

They can be fitted into smaller reveals.

Glass Options

We have a wide range of glass options available to suit your needs:

Safety Glass

  • Toughened glass (often referred to as tempered glass) can withstand 3.5 times more weight than ordinary glass. When tempered glass breaks it shatters into thousands of tiny pieces, which is also said to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Laminated glass is made up of two sheets of glass held together by a flexible plastic film. The glass will break when it is overloaded, but the glass fragments remain safely held together by a plastic film. This is to reduce the risk of injury should this glass break. Laminated glass also protects from UV radiation and can reduce the risk interior materials fading.

Obscure Glass – generally for privacy purposes.

Solar Control Glass – is used to reduce the effects of solar gain in south facing rooms.

Noise reduction glass – reduces sound transmission through the window.

Coloured Glass – is available in a variety of different forms.

At Carlson, our windows and doors are custom made to your exact design and specification. We have no standard price list, as we don’t sell “off the shelf” products.

Our quotation department prices each individual enquiry according to the measurements and style we receive, at the initial stage.

Lead Times

We offer reliable window & door delivery for most of our product range.

In general, window & door deliveries take approx. 6-8 weeks from when Order Confirmation Sign-Off has been received by Carlson.

However, in the current climate with Covid-19, pent-up consumer demand and temporary Construction Industry closures, we unfortunately cannot guarantee these lead times.  Therefore, we would ask you to discuss with us your delivery requirements, so that we can give you the latest up to date information.

Our Sliding Sash Collection

Carlson offers both traditional Weights and Cords windows and the more modern Spiral Balances. Both these styles  come in a variety of sizes which means, combined with a wide range of tailoring options, we can create the very best window solution for you.

Our Sliding Sash windows are available with arched frames, decorative glazing bars, a choice of four horn types, as well as coming with extensive hardware options.

All the timber we use is FSC® certified and the range is carbon neutral. The standard specification is internally beaded and double glazed. It comes with a choice of bead profiles, Lambs Tongue or Ovolo, and externally can have a simulated putty profile.

For those customers who need specific conservation requirements, we also offer an alternate specification with glazing bars of just 24mm and double glazing as standard. They can also be ordered as single glazed,  utilising a special “putty type” option, which adds an extra aesthetic authenticity.

10 Year Product Warranty

Carlson Sliding Sash Windows are covered by a full 10 year Product Warranty.

This Warranty covers the Timber,  Ironmongery, Glass and Factory Paint Finish.

Factory Finish

All products are sold fully factory finished. They are treated with an organic preservative after all machining to ensure complete protection across all faces.

  • All coatings are water based, therefore, environmentally friendly.
  • After basecoat, components have end grain sealer applied.
  • Opaque colours use stain blocking primer.
  • Top coats are high build breather paints.
