Stunning New Homes

These stunning new homes at Glinbury enjoy a magnificent natural setting benefiting from centuries of planting.   Amidst this beautiful woodland setting in Rathfarnham, Heatherbrook Homes sought to create the highest quality, energy efficient family homes.

They chose Carlson as their supplier for the new windows and doors.  With their energy efficiency targets in mind they opted for our double glazed AluClad windows and doors for the houses.  These have the added benefit of being virtually maintenance free.

New Homes

Leona Melia and Eddie O’Connor of Heatherbrook Homes wanted to create something very special at Glinbury. As Leona says “its been a long process ….. but anything special takes time.”

The historic house and gardens have been sensitively transformed.  It now accommodates 11 exclusive, tastefully designed 4 and 5 bedroom houses. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident everywhere, both inside and out.

Sandra O’Riordan, managing partner of O’Carroll O’Riordan Architects and her associate Suzy Freeney designed the houses on the 3 acre site.

 

Contemporary Style

The double fronted houses are contemporary in style and the warm brick detailing seems to curve around the windows and hall door, and is complimented by granite window sills and ribbed zinc to the feature windows.  The front bay cleverly incorporates a recessed porch.

Higher than normal ceilings and doors give additional expression to the finely finished light filled rooms where large picture windows frame the views of the greenery outside.

Large Windows

Large windows frame views of the landscaped front garden, enclosed by period-style railings, and of the granite rear patio. A set of steps leads from the patio up to a sloped lawn sheltered by mature trees.

Opting for Carlson’s maintenance free AluClad double glazed windows and doors,  they chose the dual colours of RAL 7006 (Beige Grey) on the exterior with RAL 9010 (Pure White) on the inside.

Energy Efficient

Every detail at Glinbury delivers contemporary quality and timeless elegance. From the energy efficient sealed fireplace with stone mantle to the exceptional windows and external doors that offer market leading thermal efficiency.

It’s all part of a specification that delivers reassuring quality to stand the test of time.

Extra-high Front Door

The extra-high front door and its glass surround leads to a double-height entrance hallway that’s overlooked by the upstairs wraparound landing.

The architects made the most of this additional height by designing 10ft ceilings and custom-made 8ft-high doors throughout the ground floor.
