A double glazed window consists of two panes of glass separated by an air gap or cavity. The two panes of glass are kept apart by “Spacer Bars” and the edges are hermetically sealed. Triple Glazed Windows – Heat Loss & Energy Saving

Triple glazed windows consist of three sheets of glass. Each pane of glass is separated by a spacer bar, which creates an air gap or cavity. At Carlson we use the latest “Warm Edge Spacer Bar Technology”, as standard.
The air gaps or cavities provide the insulating layers that slow down the heat loss and reduce the opportunity for condensation to form. Air is a relatively good insulator but inert gases are much better due to their lower thermal conductivity. Therefore Carlson uses the inert gas, “Argon”, in our triple glazed units.
